Grand Street Guild is situated on 3 square blocks in lower Manhattan.  This HUD-funded project included and apartment rehabilitation which consisted of upgrading bathrooms, kitchens, radiators, doors, as well as improvements to electrical systems and repainting.  Exterior and common area renovation included new lobbies, rebuilding one third of the façade, brickwork, a new 3,000 square foot maintenance building, a community amphitheater and a playground.  The steam system was also rebuilt to provide energy efficiency. This $60,000,000 rehabilitation has transformed one of the Lower East Side’s most important projects and now stands as a proud reminder of how a project can be transformed with tenants in occupancy.
