Our company oversees all aspects of multifamily residential development, an expert in construction, development, and design and specializes in new construction and moderate rehabilitation of affordable apartment buildings nationally.

JOB SUMMARY:

Our Bookkeeper will contribute to the accounting and administrative operations for a portfolio of affordable multi-family real estate development projects.  As a developer / contractor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Development Accountant and Accounting Supervisor to provide accurate information, insight and analysis concerning all financial matters in a timely manner.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare bank deposits for remote deposit with occasional bank runs.

  • Reconcile credit cards on a monthly basis

  • Assist in year-end audits and mid-year reviews.

  • Assist with filing and scanning as needed.

  • Special projects and assignments as requested.

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY / SKILL

  • Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel and Outlook-Calendar

  • Proficient in QuickBooks

  • Knowledge of Sage 300 is recommended but not necessary

  • General knowledge of construction accounting, real estate development accounting, or real estate management accounting is recommended.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and outstanding customer service skills,

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-Motivated and ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction and time constraints and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise

  • Must be a good culture fit: Professional presence, open-minded, positive attitude and team player

  • Interact professionally with all office visitors and incoming callers.

  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information and material

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Associates / Bachelor Degree or relevant experience

  • Previous work history in accounting department.

  • 3+ years experience in real estate and/or construction project cost accounting preferred.
